How Mira Kaua’i began.

Mira Kaua'i initially began as a small passion project for Ariana Owen and Kristy Maligro, two friends who shared a love for creating beautiful, minimalist pieces inspired by the stunning landscapes of Kaua'i. What started as a way to spend more time together and channel their creative energy quickly evolved into a thriving portion of their sustainable good refill shop that resonated with locals and visitors alike.

Drawing on their individual skills and shared vision, Ariana and Kristy carefully handcraft each Mira piece with great attention to detail. Their dedication to quality and sustainability has set them apart in the competitive world of fashion accessories, earning them a loyal following of customers who appreciate the versatility of their unique, minimal aesthetic and commitment to ethical practices.

Over the years, Mira Kaua'i has expanded its product line to include a variety of earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets, all reflecting the timeless elegance and simplicity that define the brand. Despite their success, Ariana and Kristy remain dedicated to their original mission of creating beautiful, meaningful pieces that bring joy to those who wear them.

As Mira Kaua'i continues to grow and evolve, Ariana and Kristy remain true to their roots, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Kaua'i and their deep friendship. With each design, they continue to push the boundaries of their creativity while staying true to the values that have guided them from the beginning. The process is a fusion of delicate hand-forming and meticulous pounding techniques resulting in jewelry that embodies simplicity, elegance & enduring beauty. Sourcing fair-trade 14K gold fill material and semi-precious stones, they hope to create for their customers timeless pieces that will far outlast passing trends.

Why "Mira"? Words are powerful and evoke many emotions in a person. In Romance languages, the word is associated with translations such as "wonder" and "wonderful”; In South Slavic "peace”; Albanian "goodness or kindness" and in Sanskrit, "ocean". Although definitions vary from language to language, each meaning resonated deeply within Ariana & Kristy’s hearts and became the perfect fit for their jewelry line. They hope their customers near and far will enjoy their pieces as much as they have enjoyed creating them and always be reminded that “they merely accentuate the beauty that is already you!”
